Nxt Generation Theatrics is
a new non-profit theater company run entirely by teens. All functions related to both the organization and its productions are performed and managed by teenagers.

The organization was formed in order
to create more opportunities to empower teens and to help the next generation gain experience and exposure to the arts by jumping in and managing every aspect of creating a theatrical experience.

NGT selects shows that are
challenging and unexpected, in order to show the world what teens are capable of.

Our first production - the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical
NEXT TO NORMAL - ran Off-Broadway in May and June of 2022 to sold-out audiences.

June 2023 saw the Off-Broadway run of NGT's second production, the Tony Award nominated musical VIOLET, which was nominated for 8 BroadwayWorld Off-Broadway Awards, including Best Production. NGT's Ziggy Bornas won for Best Lighting Design.

In June of 2024, NGT produced an Off-Broadway run of the Pulitzer Prize-finalist and Tony Award-winning Best Musical FUN HOME.

During the COVID shutdown, NGT also produced two highly successful virtual concerts: the NGT WINTER CONCERT, and NGT ROCKS, each spotlighting rising young talents.

ABOUT NXT GENERATION THEATRICS

NGT was founded by LANA SCHWARTZ in 2019 (then age 14, now age 19), a musical theater performer and producer.

Lana heard from so many of her friends that they were hungry to take on roles that teens so rarely get to handle - directing, producing, stage managing, designing, and more. She was eager to help create those opportunities for her generation. So, she formed NGT; securing funding, a theater, a cast and crew, insurance, the rights to their first production, and more. She is so proud to be able to work with the talented team at NGT and to help them achieve their dreams.

Lana is a rising Sophomore at Harvard University, after having graduated from the Professional Performing Arts High School (PPAS) in New York City. She has performed on stage and screen in New York and Los Angeles. Favorite roles include Fanny Brice in
FUNNY GIRL (French Woods), Dot in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (French Woods), Rutka in RUTKA (Lincoln Center), Livvy Lovewell in ENDANGERED (Off-Broadway), Tina Denmark in RUTHLESS (French Woods), Charity in SWEET CHARITY (French Woods), Bella in the short film TRACKS (starring opposite Lakeith Stanfield), and Nessarose in the pilot production of WICKED JR.
